Yanniv has a plant biology background and over a decade of academic research experience. During his PhD at Stanford University, he investigated abiotic stress sensing in plants, focusing on seed germination and water-sensing mechanisms. His research was published in and featured on the cover of Cell, earning him Stanford's Charles Yanofsky Prize for most outstanding graduate student in molecular biology. Prior to his doctoral work, he conducted research across multiple plant biology disciplines at Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, and the Weizmann Institute of Science. Before joining Fall Line Capital, he spent over two years at AgFunder, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm focused on AgTech and FoodTech investments, where he managed deal sourcing, due diligence, content creation, and portfolio support. He holds a PhD in Plant Biology from Stanford University and an M.S. and B.S. in Biology from Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon. He is a Registered Patent Agent, and was named to Forbes 30 Under 30: Science and Healthcare Europe.
